La rivi\u00e8re York ne peut \u00eatre d\u00e9crite autrement qu\u2019\u00e9tant une perle rare, un joyau naturel de la p\u00e9ninsule gasp\u00e9sienne et une rivi\u00e8re l\u00e9gendaire pour de nombreux avides p\u00eacheurs. Avec une eau claire \u00e0 la couleur vert \u00e9meraude, la rivi\u00e8re York est une des rivi\u00e8res les plus convoit\u00e9es pour la p\u00eache au saumon et est reconnu pour ses saumons abondants et de tailles pro\u00e9minentes, d\u00e9passant occasionnellement les 35 livres. Ces majestueux poissons migrateurs repr\u00e9sentent un d\u00e9fi de taille pour les p\u00eacheurs aguerris qui cherche \u00e0 faire face \u00e0 ce guerrier des eaux. Un total de 70 fosses r\u00e9parties dans 11 secteurs de p\u00eache sont trouv\u00e9s le long des 98 kilom\u00e8tres qui constituent ce cours d\u2019eau.<\/span><\/h6>\n[\/gt3_custom_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][gt3_spacing height=”15px”][gt3_custom_text text_color=”#000000″ font_size=”16″]Cette rivi\u00e8re prend sa source dans les monts Notre-Dame, plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment dans le lac York pr\u00e8s de Murdochville, et poursuit son chemin sinueux au travers les montagnes jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce qu\u2019elle rejoigne la Baie de Gasp\u00e9 o\u00f9 elle finit son parcours. Ce cours d\u2019eau coule principalement en r\u00e9gion inhabit\u00e9e, \u00e0 l\u2019exception des derniers kilom\u00e8tres pr\u00e8s de Gasp\u00e9, et est bord\u00e9 de paysages naturels saisissants, notamment un canyon imposant de plusieurs kilom\u00e8tres. La rivi\u00e8re York est navigable au printemps lors de la crue ou en eau tr\u00e8s haute apr\u00e8s de fortes pluies. Il est possible de descendre la rivi\u00e8re \u00e0 canot, en raft et en kayak de rivi\u00e8re au courant de sa p\u00e9riode navigable. Aussi, la combinaison isothermique, ou\u00a0drysuit,<\/em>\u00a0est fortement recommand\u00e9e, voire m\u00eame indispensable, pour une journ\u00e9e sur la rivi\u00e8re York \u00e9tant donn\u00e9 que l\u2019eau de la rivi\u00e8re \u00e0 cette p\u00e9riode provient principalement de la fonte des neiges et est donc tr\u00e8s froide.
